Heavy-Duty Cages – We’ve got it covered!

Safety Technology International (Europe) Ltd; (STI) stock an extensive and varied range of heavy-duty cages which have been specially designed to protect smoke detectors, beacons, sounders, emergency lighting and more, from vandalism, misuse or accidental damage.

Constructed from plastic coated, heavy-duty galvanised steel rod, the cages can withstand the severest of abuse, and due to the unique design means that they do not interfere with the operation of the protected device. If you cannot find a cage to meet your specific application then we invite you to contact us as we provide a custom build service.

Paul Cooper of the 84th Leicester Scout Group got in touch with STI and was looking for a solution to the problem of protecting fluorescent lighting located in the scout hut.  Mr. Cooper went on to say “We have installed the cages and they are effective and combated the vandalism problem we were experiencing”.

An aesthetic alternative to the Steel Web Stoppers are the Polycarbonate Detector Stoppers. Constructed from tough clear polycarbonate, they provide the same level of protection as their steel counterparts, and are used in areas where heavy-duty steel rod may not be appropriate. The cold rolled steel and stainless steel versions provide a natural resistance to corrosion, the design adopts a sophisticated matrix of perforations that provides access for smoke to the detector while providing a protective shield against vandalism and misuse.

In addition, STI manufacture and provide a wide range of solutions designed to protect fire alarm systems, including the Euro Stopper, a polycarbonate cover with a built in deterrent alarm, helps to prevent misuse to fire alarm break glass call points.  It has proven to be effective in addressing the problem of false fire alarms. Exit Stopper is an audible door alarm that monitors the unauthorised use of emergency exit doors and the Extinguisher Stopper helps to prevent theft or maltreatment of extinguishers.

Plus… resettable call points, EN-54 11 and IP67 and push buttons ideal for indoor or outdoor applications!

With over a 1000 products manufactured by STI and with over 20 years’ experience we are confident that we can rise to the challenge when it comes to protecting and prolonging the life of critically important fire, security and safety equipment.
